Our next favorite coffee shop to stop by is Java Love Coffee Roasting Co, which has three locations in Montclair; one by the train station on Bellevue Avenue , one on Bay Street, and my favorite one on Church Street. Java Love Coffee Roasting Co is an LGBTQ+ friendly coffee shop that regularly employs and highlights various people of the neighborhood. It is a safe space for all to enjoy a delicious cup of coffee and have a chat. They update their crafted coffee menu every seas0n or holiday filled with funky names and creative ingredients.

However, Java Love’s standout will always be their coffee. We’ve indulged in their in-store coffee drinks as well as brought bags of coffee beans ground onsite. My favorite blend is Guatemala La Flor del Café Antigua because it smells and tastes like a decadent “coffee” chocolate.

Java Love’s coffee can be addictive, however being a safe space for all matters more.

CG&I Honest Advice:

• Java Love on Church Street is located on a one way street. Parking is difficult, however, there is a parking deck the next parallel street over.

• Montclair by Bloomfield Avenue can get really busy, however, the newest location on Bay Street isn’t as busy and you can park your car.

• Don’t let the concentrated faces of the baristas fool you, they are very friendly, knowledgeable, and can really make a great cup of coffee.

• Buy a bag of coffee, whatever bean or roast you prefer.

• Try the crafted drink list if unsure of the standard coffee fare!
